What is Work-Based Learning (WBL)?
Designed by employers for employers, a work-based learning programme enables your employee to learn through a combination of ‘on-the-job' and ‘off-the-job' training. On the job they work alongside your staff and the rest they learn from a local learning provider, all the time developing their skills and competencies for your business.
How long will the training last?
One of the key benefits of programmes such as Apprenticeships is the flexibility. A work-based learning programme is designed to fit around the needs of the employer and the individual. However, as a general guide, those studying an apprenticeship are likely to take around 12-18 months to complete their programme. Those studying an Advanced Apprenticeship may take slightly longer, normally between 2-3 years in total.
