VQ Day 2009
With the second annual VQ Day taking place on 24 June 2009, colleges, sixth-forms, learning providers, employers and other stakeholders will be receiving a VQ promotion pack and details of the VQ Day website, enabling them to promote the event on their own websites.

The aim of VQ Day is to celebrate vocational achievement and the many paths to success. To help raise awareness of VQ Day and encourage people to join the celebrations, posters and leaflets are available to download from the website. There is also advice and guidance on how to get involved, including details of how to organise a celebration event.

The second annual VQ Hero Awards have also been launched and people are being encouraged to nominate ‘VQ Heroes’ who embody vocational achievement in the following categories: VQ Hero – 24 and under and VQ Hero – 25 and over. The winners will be announced at the national celebration event on VQ Day.

In addition to this, people are being encouraged to join the roll call of vocational success where learners past and present are able to add their name to the list of people across the UK who have gained a vocational qualification.

Last year thousands of people joined the VQ Day celebrations – we are hoping 2009 is going to be bigger and better!

Further information can be found on the VQ Day website or by contacting the VQ Day Team.
