As part of their new WBL Resource Pack, the Hertfordshire Provider Network have produced a new brochure that advertises each provider with a unique 'code word' linked to a text messaging service. Research showed that young people were not keen on picking up the phone to enquire for further information, so the young person can now send a text message from their mobile phone that is converted into an email and the provider phones them back, therefore removing the communication barrier and increasing the number of enquiries to providers.
The Hertfordshire Provider Network launched their new WBL Resource Pack to an audience of more than 100 at a celebration event on Monday 10th November. The event, held at the University of Hertfordshire, was organised to celebrate the project which has seen a complete WBL Resource Pack created to promote Apprenticeships and Entry to Employment in schools throughout Hertfordshire.
The event was attended by Providers, Apprentices, Employers, Members of the East of England Regional LSC Council and Colleagues from the Local Authority and LSC. It included key note speakers Tim Hutchings, Chief Executive of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Eileen Gordon, Hertfordshire’s 14-19 Strategy Manager.
As well as launching the new WBL Resource Pack, the event also celebrated the Hertfordshire e2e learner of the year, Garry Sheehan of Sunnyside Training; Hertfordshire Apprentice of the year, Janet Mansell, employed by MBDA and learner of JHP Training; and Employer of the year, MBDA.
The event was a huge success and sent a very clear message about the importance of Apprenticeships to both our local economy and the workforce of the future.
