Exceptional demand for places resulted in extra capacity being added at the last minute which helped to ensure that the inaugural conference for the Eastern region Association of Learning Providers (ALP) was a resounding success. The event, held at the prestigious British Racing School in Newmarket on Friday 20th June drew representatives from over 80 learning providers and partner organisations involved in delivering the skills agenda in the region. The delegates gathered to hear an excellent programme of key speakers and participate in workshops covering a wide range of topical issues. Key speakers included:

  • Caroline Neville - Regional Director of the LSC
  • Graham Hoyle - Chief Executive, Association of Learning Providers
  • Neil Bates - Chief Executive, Prospects College
  • Rory Mac Donald OBE, Chief Executive, British Racing School
  • Sharon Money - Conference Chair, Chair of ALP East Regional Network
  • Alan Clarke, Sector Engagement manager, LLUK Catalyst Programme

 

Workshops covered the following topics:
Framework for Excellence, Specialist Diplomas, Training Quality Standard, e Learning, Self Regulation and NEET Project, Youth East

The conference also marked the launch of this new ALP East website which was greeted with enthusiasm and praise from all quarters. The website, which has been developed in association with Active Marketing & Design, provides a showcase for work-based learning provision across the East of England and also boasts a secure area to allow providers and partners to communicate and share best practice.
