
Student Apprentices celebrate in Norfolk
For the past 8 years Norfolk sixth formers have had the opportunity to take part in an apprenticeship programmes whilst still remaining at school. The Student Apprenticeship programme was piloted in the late 90’s in the Midlands and by 2001 three pilot areas in the UK was set up – Norfolk being one such pilot area.

ALP East, the Association of Learning Providers Eastern Region Network, is a proactive and collaborative partnership of over 100 providers of work based learning, delivering a range of training programmes across the East of England.
Since 2005 Partners have jointly worked together, to share resources, offer support in dealing with common topics and ensured a common approach to regional issues. By sharing good practice and regularly liaising, partners in the Network are informed about key topics affecting the developing post-16 sector landscape. The Network works very closely with the East of England Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Association of Learning Providers (ALP) at a national level.
The Network has a voice at a number of key regional meetings with key agencies to comment on and influence both strategic planning and the delivery of vocational learning programmes.
Partners deliver a full range of programmes, including 14-16 Provision, Entry to Employment (e2e), Apprenticeships, Train to Gain plus many other specialist and commercial training programmes.
Many providers are working in partnership with local schools to deliver the Specialist 14-19 Diplomas.
